Magazine COntest
Hi! Isnt it really irritating when u eat something and it gets stuck in your mouth? And it gets more irritating when u try to use your tongue to try and dislodge that minute bit of food but it always fails? Even when contorting your face to look like that crazy dude Bean? This happens with all sort of foods. From meat, to pop corn to those frequent green veggies and the peanut in the SKIPPY Peanut buttter. haha. I'm sure it happens to everyone. I just had another Food-stuck-in-mouth-region horror Just 2 seconds ago. I lathered a thick layer of chunky peanut butter "30 percent more nuts" on a wholemeal bread and started eating. The bread along with everything else was gobbled down quickly but that ONE mean nut had to lodge itself between my upper palate and one of my shiny white colgate molars. (not for the faint hearted)
So here I was trying to use my fantastic Tongue-Jaw combination to remove that tough nut. BUT like it name states it aint coming out that easily, tough nuts! Like i Said on tough nut it was. So after like 4 mins of heavy tongue action, I finally succumbed to my natural reflex action inherited from my neanderthal ancestors and just stucked my finger for some light fingering. (Once again, No pun intended) Of course, I did wash my hands after that, that's why there was a pause in the earlier paragraph and I'm sure you could feel the words moving slower earlier then.
Anyway, what I really wanted to do was to tell u about this mathematical problem I came across in a magazine. As follows:-
A guy walks into a 7-11 store and selects four items to buy. The clerk at the counter informs the gentleman that the total cost of the four items is $7.11. He was completely surprised that the cost was the same as the name of the store. The clerk informed the man that he had simply multiplied all the costs of the items together to arrive at the total. The customer calmly informed the clerk that the items should be added and not multiplied. The clerk then added the items together and informed the customer that the total was still exactly $7.11.What are the exact costs of the items?
This problem sum gave me a huge headache and like I eventually had to ask my brother who gave me an answer in lightning speed time. Basically there are 4 unknowns and 2 equations. So it's a little challenging. Try it out! IT's probably a break for all you sodoku lovers.
