The Adventures of Momo

Yesterday I went to this funky food joint with shanru. It's this shop along East Coast Road called "Stonegrill". Hahah.. Yet another wrong choice of makan places. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN! My only excuse was that I was tired and oblivious to the prominent tag line written on it's poster:
"Have YOU been STONED?"
Haha! What a SLOGAN! It has lame ass written all over it but I failed to notice. Ok I dont really think it was their slogan but it was on one of their posters. Well, I have to say the food was interesting.. I guess. We ordered "prime of the land" and "chicken tender". There I was waiting for the food and checking out the minimalist decoration in the restaurant. Little did I know that the food would be heading towards that "minimal-ist" direction.

Of cos the "prime of the land" came first. I could see just a CUBE of raw beef lying on a rectangular slab of heated rock with some vegetables and mash potatoes by the side. A 6 centimetre cube. Apparently I had to cook the meat myself on this heated rock. I like a neatherthal who'd just butchered a cube out of my brontoaurus and about to cook my meal in the prehistoric sun.

Well, it was fun though. The rock was super hot. Water instantly evaporated when spilled on the stone. I seared the corn, brocolli and everything actually. Anyway the "Chicken tenders" were a little better but I guess the shop was really aiming for that quality over quantity thing. Had the prehistoric thing going though. but alas they failed of course. Boo.
