Rain is coming!!
No.. I'm not talking about the sorry korean singer that aptly named his upcoming concert campaign in Singapore , Rain Is Coming... How lame... I was refering to the cold, wet precipitation that falls from the clouds la. It is really pouring this morning so no exercise for me...
I came back from Malaysia just in time for Christmas and managed to spend some time with sr who's leaving so so so soon.. booo
Anyway the Malaysia trip with my family was quite fun. One thing I noticed was the huge number of Protons on the roads. Haha. Almost 50% in some areas. It's almost a national symbol for Malaysia.
Instead of boring you with a long itinerary for the trip, I'll just bore you with a range of pictures. Haha.
Malaysia Getaway
My first stop was Cameron Highlands! The place is really cool and windy.
Cos my hotel was 1,628 m above Sea level, temperature hovers round 18 degrees celcius. Cold sometimes but rather enjoyable. Haha. Night life is almost inexistent with over 60% of the population being hard core farmers. Even the most happening and hip ones are tucked in by 9-10pm. ahhaha
Being on a mountain and with many mountains around you. Every shot seemed to be a breathtaking one.
Naturally majority of the sight-seeing would revolve about agriculture.....
Strawberry Farms where I got to pick half a kilogram of strawberries!
Hydroponic Farms with millions of rows of lettuce.
However, while everyone was either kept in awe or photo-snapping away at the fascinating fruits and vegetables, I discovered something more sinister happening right in the middle of the hydroponic farm.
It was outrageous actually. That a couple would be fornicating right in the middle of the farm without any care for the passing tourist. Perhaps only in Malaysia could this happen.
Yup. I even got a picture of the daring couple humping right off a freaking strawberry.
Following which I went to Cactus Valley! Where I saw huge pitcher plants, a plant with curly leaves, a 3 layer cactus that looks like a kueh-lapis and some weird flower that looks like it has elephant tusks growing out of it. Haha. Among many other very very peculiar plants.
but the best of the lot of all the cactus seemed to be this hip hop afro hair of a cactus. Haha.. If you go close enough and place your ear on it, you can actually hear 50 cent playing. You can try. hahah...
Saw mountains of tea bushes and the maufacturing of tea in a commercial tea factory!
Like I said, every single shot is a POWERSHOT! haha. The scenary is breathtaking.
I also went to see the aborigines, the people who settled in the country long before all the other immigrants. That I looked forward to. Thinking they would be dressed in plants and using blowpipes. But reality was much more sober.
The Aborigines lived in all the houses built on the slope of the mountain and if you look very closely, they all have satellite dishes poking out of their tin houses. Oh and some of them even have their motocycles or cars parked on the tarmac. Haha. What a let down! The price of globalisation. haha.
Anyway after Cameron Highlands, we went to Kuala Lumpur. Well, no tours planned so everything was free and easy. Just shopping and eating. Haha.
Oh and something I noticed in Isetan KL. Haha. They have a section just for "lady plus sizes". Haha.. you dont really get that in Singapore.. waahahahah..
Shopping was hardcore and I went to Chinatown where there was like a HUGE pasar malam selling 'real' branded merchandise at dirt cheap prices. Haha. SUPER SUPER cheap. LV, GUCCI to nike and adidas. Every single product available. ahaha. And bargaining was really fun too.
A fun and simple trip!
On another note, NTU has yet to release the results for my exams. No use praying now. I do hope they release them soon so I can start planning. It irks me how a major organisation like NTU can take so long to process something like that.
Anyways, merry christmas and happy holidays!
Had an epiphany at 12:17 pm.
