A Trip to N.T.U.C

Being the kind soul that I ALWAYS am, and that my younger brother is on his fully sponsored holiday to Brunei by SAF, the "blessing" of accompanying my mum for groceries fell on my shoulders.
Groceries is no fun man, never fails to make me grouchy. Especially when u meet with all kinds of people from all walks of life. Of course bar the part where I influence the selection of snacks. Haha. This time I got another bargain!

and i wonder why that spare tyre doesnt seem to go away. haha.

Anyway back to the topic of meeting people from all walks of life. Today I saw this indian lady doing the groceries with her daughter, no more than 12 years old. There I was bored stiff looking at many different pair of white balls, fishballs la, when I heard this lady "educating" her daughter on the as they walked past the meat section of the supermarket. If you have been living in outer space, the meat section is where the there's loads and loads of meat just wrapped up in individual packages left on the racks for the consumers own selection.

And I overheard, "look at that(points towards the meat section) so disgusting, so many pieces of dead meat. Just like a graveyard", says the lady. I knew she was vegetarian after seeing her ask if there was a vegetarian type of another product to a sales promoter, later on. Honestly, I was a little taken aback at the way at which the mother decided to teach the child. To compare meat to deadbodies? To a graveyard? Come on? I think majority of the public would feel that's a little extreme. Are there not better ways to educate your child than simply scaring her so she never trys her first chicken chop or her virgin smoked salmon?? Please!! Perhaps you could freak your child out for the time being but when she matures she's gonna seek out that meat-suppressed side of hers and for all you know, she could go from vegetarian to hard-core carnivore!! Sensible explanations are always a good choice, even to a child lah, auntie.

Anyway, whatever man.. not here to give Parenting 101. Personally, I'm a foodie lover.. Regardless of meat or veg, if it's yummy, I'm your man! haha..
