*Ringggggg* End of Recess
So much for my "recess week"... Whatever break I had, it was either spent doing my countless assignments or pressuring myself to do the countless assignments. So much for "happy holidays"..
I went for TP D&D at Marina Manderin on friday. Sadly, I did not walk away with the top prize of a 27 inch spanking new Sony Bravia High Definition ready flat screen telly. In fact, the only thing I walked away with were the same clothes on my back that I entered the hotel in, after I stepped out of my bentley, which were my armani sponsored clothes lah. haha. I did however catch up with a couple of my colleagues, so that was great. The food however was still pretty crappy. The service too had much to be desired.
Just came back from Qee Dee's place, with a tummy that can challenge, that of a pregnant mum with quintuplets. ahha.. once agian, lotsa catchin up with old friends. gossip gossip. oh and I made a NET LOST in gambling. haha.. I missed the match between Liverpool and Man U though. Not that it was anything worth watching.
I was livid when I heard of Man U's victory but a quick call from my dear pal, Rafa cleared everything up. As you know the race for the title is virtually down to Chelsea and Man U this season, no surprise there, as Liverpool finally decided to take the back seat and let some other rojak team bask in teh glory of the limelight. Rafa Benitez - Liverpool's Manager knew that a win from Man Utd today would effectively put Man Utd in pole position to take the title this season and coupled with the fact that if Liverpool had won today, Chlesea might have a chance in winning the title, Rafa Benitez decided to field a team, tactically so weak that even our own Geylang United would have no problems beating. cos he rather Man U win than Chealsea loh..
I know, by now you are starting to doubt my words.. is this fucker talking cock not?? sure or not??? How can??? It's like squeezing water out of stone! Cannot leh~!!! That's IMPOSSIBLE!! but Yes it's true...Liverpool can field a tactically weak team. haha. A simple analogy would paint a clearer picture. Liken the Liverpool soccer team to a bunch of magnets. Each player being a world class magnet. However, if you want to create a technically unsound and tactically lousy team all you got to do is to tweak the directions of the world class magnets. So the magnets will oppose each other internally and the NET result would be a team of world class magnets who cant seem to gel since they are all opposing each other. If you have problems imagining this team of opposing magnets, jsut think, "chelsea".
Anyway, yep, that's what livepool did today. Rafa tweak the directions. So instead of having the usual 11 men of world class magnets playing a level of soccer that is unrivalled to any team in the world. The team today played a level of soccer where effectively, Man U had 22 players on the pitch. Liverpool did everything to let Man U score today, bar putting the ball into our own goal.
Sadly, Man U, with a team of supposedly "world class" players took 92 mins to grind out a poistive result. To quote ESPN Soccernet, "....(Man U)They had been second best to Liverpool for long periods......" & "...Liverpool had been far and away the best team....". Wow.. reading the post match reports was quite a surprise for me. I mean, Rafa, was already playing the worst tactics any manager can play but Man U were having problems holding the ball, practically UNCHALLENGED!!! Would you believe, Liverpool was even dominating!!! Man U even had a player sent off for trying to swing a right hook at a Liverpool player! Wow.. How can anyone hit the person who is actually trying to help them? ahha. It's like biting the hand that feeds you! I was absolutely Shell-shocked! Haha. Luckily, Man U best scorer, a substitute defender, saved Man U the blushes, and finally accpeted Liverpool's magnanimous act by scoring in the 92th min of the match to inch Man U ahead for a win. I bet Rafa Benitez was so pleased when the ten men side finally scored against a Liverpool playing at 1/10 of it's real strength.
Anyway, my recess is almost over. My exams are coming in about 2 months time. Give me the strength to perservere. I want my As.
PS: Do take any soccer views with a pinch of salt and if that's not enough take some pepper lah...
Had an epiphany at 12:55 am.
